Continuing its anti-corruption efforts, the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) in Bihar arrested a revenue employee, Ramkrit Mahto, in Sheohar district. Mahto was caught red-handed while demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for land records mutation. Acting on a tip-off, the SVU conducted a successful raid led by Deputy Superintendents of Police Sudhir Kumar and Sanjay Kumar Verma.
This recent arrest highlights the government’s commitment to fighting corruption in the Revenue Department. The SVU team executed a well-planned trap, apprehending Mahto as he accepted the bribe. Legal proceedings are now underway, and officials assure that the case will be handled in accordance with the law. This action follows a similar arrest of a sub-inspector in Nawada district for bribery.
Vigilance officials emphasize that all aspects of the case will be thoroughly investigated to ensure justice. The government’s proactive stance against corruption in land-related matters is evident through these recent arrests. The SVU’s swift action serves as a deterrent to those engaging in corrupt practices within the state’s administrative system.
