Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently visited the Saidpur drain near Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna’s Rajendra Nagar area to assess the ongoing construction progress. He urged officials to expedite the project for timely completion, stressing the significance of quality work to address waterlogging issues in the city. Accompanied by key officials, Kumar’s inspection aimed to ensure the Saidpur drain project’s crucial role in alleviating waterlogging in Rajendra Nagar.
The Saidpur drain project holds vital importance for the flood-prone Rajendra Nagar area and is anticipated to bring substantial relief to residents upon its completion. Officials are optimistic about finishing the project before the upcoming monsoon season, with the Chief Minister actively monitoring various drainage projects in the city. Notably, post the Mandiri drain project’s conclusion, plans include constructing a four-lane road connecting Bailey Road to Ashok Rajpath at Bans Ghat, alongside proposals for roads along Rajiv Nagar drain and Serpentine Road.
Since assuming office in November 2025, Nitish Kumar has maintained a proactive approach towards development projects, conducting regular field visits to ensure timely execution. The completion of these drainage and road infrastructure initiatives is expected to not only combat waterlogging issues but also alleviate traffic congestion in surrounding areas.
