No arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting at a reception party in Patna that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The tragic incident occurred in Shahpur village under the jurisdiction of Gopalpur Police Station around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Two brothers, Manish Kumar (32) and Manjeet Kumar (23), lost their lives after being shot during a dispute at the reception party of a local resident’s son, Daulat Rai. The victims sustained severe injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

Eyewitnesses reported that the brothers engaged in an argument with certain individuals at the event. Amidst the altercation, one of the attackers allegedly brandished a pistol and fired shots before fleeing the scene, causing panic and chaos among the guests.

Police promptly responded to the situation, with a team from Gopalpur Police Station securing the area and commencing an investigation. A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Gopalpur Police Station, and statements from attendees are being documented.

City SP (East) Patna, Parichay Kumar, mentioned that crucial evidence has been collected from the site, including the recovery of three empty cartridges. Authorities have also acquired CCTV footage from the vicinity and videos from the reception venue, although the identities of the culprits have not been disclosed yet.

The City SP stated, “Two brothers were fatally shot at a reception party within the Gopalpur Police Station limits. Initial findings indicate a previous dispute as the motive behind the incident. Three empty cartridges were found at the scene, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects.” Police teams are conducting searches at various locations to locate and arrest the accused, with the investigation ongoing.
