In a significant development, Noida Police detained three wanted individuals for allegedly mentally harassing a young woman and coercing her into attempting suicide. The arrests took place near the service road in Noida Sector-57. The accused were identified as Ayush Sharma, Saurabh Upadhyay, and Abhinav Upadhyay.
The case, registered at Sector-58 police station, stemmed from a complaint by the victim’s father on June 10. He reported that his daughter, working at a private company, was being blackmailed by some colleagues. The victim, during her employment, was befriended and trapped by Ayush Sharma, along with his associates Saurabh and Abhinav Upadhyay.
The accused allegedly threatened to manipulate and share her photos widely on social media and the internet. Under constant blackmail and mental pressure, the woman faced severe distress, leading her to attempt suicide by jumping from a railway overbridge. Responding to the seriousness of the situation, Noida Police filed an FIR, launched an investigation, and subsequently arrested all three suspects.
Ayush Sharma, a resident of Mahamadpur Jatan village in Hathras district, was living in the Bishanpura area of Noida. Saurabh Upadhyay and Abhinav Upadhyay, also from Hathras, resided in the Morna area of Noida Sector-35. Police officials confirmed an ongoing detailed investigation and stated that further legal actions would be based on emerging facts during the probe.
