The Noida Police have made a significant breakthrough regarding the recent violence among laborers in Gautam Buddh Nagar, labeling it as a well-planned conspiracy. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh disclosed that three main instigators behind the unrest have been identified. Two of them, Rupesh Roy and Manisha Chauhan, have been apprehended, while the third individual, Adiya Anand, is currently on the run.
Investigators have revealed that all three suspects were present in Noida during the turmoil and allegedly delivered incendiary speeches to agitate the laborers. Additionally, a social media aspect has emerged in the investigation. The police have pinpointed two handles, Meer Ilayasi and Ayushi Tiwari, which were allegedly used to circulate misleading and provocative content.
The preliminary investigation indicates that these accounts were operated from Pakistan, purportedly utilizing VPN services, and had been active for about three months. Due to the suspected cross-border connection, national intelligence agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), have joined the probe.
The police have filed 13 FIRs related to the violence and have arrested 62 individuals, including alleged conspirators, arsonists, and troublemakers. Officials noted that most of those involved were outsiders attempting to disrupt the district’s law and order situation. The situation in Noida has now stabilized, with heightened security measures in place.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a raise in minimum wages for laborers and proposed the establishment of a Wage Board to handle future disputes. Authorities are working to implement agreements with workers to rebuild trust on the ground. Police have emphasized that stringent action will persist against individuals involved in violence, vandalism, or any attempts to disturb public order.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fugitive suspects, with continuous raids and further investigation in progress.
