Nokia has made significant leadership changes in India, appointing Samar Mittal as India Country Business Leader and Vibha Mehra as India Country Manager, effective April 1. This move is part of Nokia’s strategy to enhance its presence and focus on business in the country.
Samar Mittal, in his new role, will lead Nokia’s business strategy in India, concentrating on expanding partnerships with telecom operators, artificial intelligence players, cloud services providers, and critical enterprise sectors. He will also focus on identifying new growth opportunities and aligning Nokia’s offerings with the evolving needs of the Indian market.
Vibha Mehra, on the other hand, will oversee Nokia’s overall presence in India, managing communications, government relations, public engagement, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and internal people strategy. Her role will be crucial in reinforcing Nokia’s reputation as a reliable technology company in India.
Both leaders bring substantial experience to their new positions. Mittal, with nearly three decades of experience in the telecom and IT sectors, previously led Nokia’s Cloud and Network Services business in the Middle East and Africa. Mehra, with over 26 years of experience, has worked with renowned companies like Microsoft, Intel, and Tata Consultancy Services, and most recently led government relations for Nokia in the Asia Pacific region.
Nokia emphasized that both leaders will collaborate closely to drive its strategy in India and support its objective of advancing connectivity and digital growth. The new leadership structure underscores Nokia’s enduring commitment to India and its aspiration to play a more significant role in the country’s digital and technological progress.
