Stener highlighted climate change, energy transition, and sustainable development as key areas of focus for Norway. She also mentioned that discussions during the summit will address the West Asia crisis, emphasizing the need for coordinated dialogue on global geopolitical challenges, especially with India being a crucial stakeholder in such matters.
In terms of economic engagement, Stener mentioned that bilateral trade between India and Norway, though modest, has been steadily increasing, with the number of Norwegian companies in India doubling over the past decade. The Ministry of External Affairs announced that PM Modi’s visit to Norway will include engagements with King Harald V, Queen Sonja, and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, with a focus on trade, investment, clean technologies, and the blue economy.
