O.P. Jindal Global University has introduced three new Master’s Degree Programs in Electoral Analysis & Management, Political Communication, and Legislative Drafting. These one-year intensive programs aim to meet the increasing demand for skilled professionals in areas like election administration, political campaigns, strategic communication, and law-making.
The launch event was graced by Chief Guest Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, and Guest of Honour Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Law & Justice (Independent Charge), among other distinguished personalities like Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General of India, and Naveen Jindal, Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University.
In his address, Speaker Om Birla highlighted the importance of these courses in enhancing democracy and preparing the youth to contribute effectively to various aspects of the country’s governance. Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal emphasized the significance of legislative drafting and governance, stating that these programs will benefit society at large by enhancing students’ understanding in these areas.
The courses received praise from R. Venkataramani, Attorney General for India, who expressed hope that these programs would attract bright talents to become valuable resources for society. Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General of India, emphasized the importance of legislative drafting and the need for trained professionals in this field to improve legislative processes in the nation.
Naveen Jindal, the Founding Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, highlighted how these new courses will contribute to strengthening India’s democratic processes and provide unique opportunities for students in electoral analysis and legislative drafting. The university’s Founding Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) C. Raj Kumar, emphasized the significance of these academic initiatives in enhancing students’ employability and practical skills through hands-on learning and mentorship.
