A tragic incident unfolded in Rawali Kala village, Ghaziabad’s Muradnagar area, as an 80-year-old man named Harpal confessed to killing his 72-year-old wife, Urmila, with an axe. The elderly woman was found in a pool of blood at their residence, leading to her demise despite immediate medical attention at the Community Health Centre. Harpal surrendered himself at the Rawali police outpost, leading to his arrest and the initiation of legal procedures.

Family members revealed that Harpal, who had been residing at his daughter’s house, had been struggling with mental health issues for some time. Reports of frequent disputes between the couple further shed light on the unfortunate circumstances. The couple’s grandson, Kunal, disclosed that his grandfather often engaged in arguments with the family over trivial matters, setting a tense atmosphere in the household. The police, in their ongoing investigation, aim to uncover the underlying reasons behind this distressing act.
