Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi showcased the state’s efforts in education, skilling, healthcare, sports, and technology-driven governance to foster comprehensive human development and support the goals of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Odisha. Speaking at the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Majhi emphasized Odisha’s role in PM Modi’s Purvodaya vision for the growth of eastern India.
In 2025-26, Odisha achieved a 7.9% economic growth rate while maintaining fiscal discipline within FRBM limits. Majhi highlighted that Odisha secured the top spot in NITI Aayog’s Fiscal Health Index 2026. Addressing the theme of the meeting, Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat, he stressed the importance of empowered individuals, skilled youth, healthy families, educated children, and inclusive opportunities in building a developed nation.
Under the leadership of PM Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat, Odisha is dedicated to developing Viksit Odisha by investing in human development, with a focus on wellness, education, and prosperity. Majhi emphasized early childhood development, citing initiatives like Sukhad Lalan Palan and Ame Padhiba Ama Bhasare aimed at enhancing learning in the crucial early years. Odisha plans to utilize Artificial Intelligence through the National AI Mission to enhance education quality and childcare outcomes.
Majhi outlined various educational schemes in Odisha, including Ama Kuni Pila and Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana, alongside initiatives in skilling such as ITI upgradation and internships for students. The state is also focusing on sports, agriculture, and healthcare, with developments like block-level stadiums and digital crop surveys. Leveraging AI and digital technologies through platforms like Ama Sathi, Odisha aims to enhance governance and service delivery while ensuring data privacy and security.
