Amid concerns raised by opposition parties regarding escalating violence, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi instructed the Odisha Police to adopt a more proactive and community-focused approach to combat organized crime in the state. During a review of the law-and-order situation with senior officials, CM Majhi emphasized the importance of building public trust while also creating a deterrent for criminals.

He stressed the necessity for collaboration between police and district administrative officials to effectively control crime, highlighting the supportive role of local administrative officers in this endeavor. Majhi emphasized the significance of teamwork in both implementing government schemes and combating criminal activities, underscoring the need for proactive policing, crime mapping, and intelligence gathering.

The Chief Minister emphasized the value of maintaining positive relations with the public to facilitate the flow of timely information for preventive crime measures.
