Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Statue of Unity in Gujarat during his official tour, where he paid respects to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He explored the tourism and development facilities at the site in Kevadia, also known as Ekta Nagar. Majhi expressed pride and gratitude during his visit to the integrated tourism complex surrounding the monument.
He offered tributes at the monument’s base and explored various attractions within the premises that are part of the broader tourism infrastructure. Majhi visited Arogya Van and interacted with tribal women who prepared khati bhindi’s sharbat. He also toured the Miyawaki forest and Vaman Tree Garden, promoting ecological awareness in the tourism zone.
The Chief Minister witnessed a laser show and took part in the spiritually enriching Narmada Aarti at the complex. Majhi highlighted that the Statue of Unity symbolizes national integration and India’s developmental progress. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in making the monument a symbol of national pride.
Located in Gujarat’s Narmada district, the Statue of Unity stands at 182 meters tall, being the world’s tallest statue. Inaugurated in 2018, it has become a significant tourism center with cultural, ecological, and recreational attractions. Majhi’s visit aims to enhance economic and institutional ties between Odisha and Gujarat, including discussions on industrial collaboration and investment opportunities.
