Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his warm wishes on Utkal Divas. Majhi appreciated Modi’s acknowledgment of Odisha’s rich history and cultural heritage, stating that it deeply resonated with the people of the state. He highlighted the cultural ties between Gujarat and Odisha, emphasizing the shared legacy of Sun Temples and Rath Yatra traditions.
PM Modi’s active involvement in the Ahmedabad Rath Yatra’s Pahandi ritual was praised by the Chief Minister as a symbol of cultural unity. Majhi commended the Central Government’s significant support for Odisha’s development under Modi’s leadership, particularly citing the substantial allocation of Rs 10,600 crore for the railway sector in 2025–26. He also lauded the focus on port-led development, aiming to position Odisha as a key maritime and industrial center.
Acknowledging Modi’s recognition of Odisha’s initiatives like the Subhadra Yojana and Lakhpati Didis, Majhi highlighted the empowerment of women through these efforts. As Odisha nears a century as a distinct state, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to realizing the vision of a prosperous Odisha contributing to a developed India. Majhi emphasized the importance of preserving Odia culture and identity, expressing confidence in Odisha’s future growth and prosperity through collaborative efforts with the Government of India.
