Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called on citizens to support the Census 2027 by providing their details on the self-enumeration portal before the door-to-door survey. The Census initiative in Odisha is being carried out in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations, Odisha, and the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of the Government of Odisha under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The House Listing and Housing Census, the first phase of the Census, is set to commence on April 16. Trained enumerators and supervisors will gather data from households between April 16 and May 15. Prior to this, citizens are encouraged to participate in the self-enumeration program running from April 1 to midnight of April 15.
Through the self-enumeration portal (https://se.census.gov.in), citizens can input their information independently. Chief Minister Majhi has personally completed his self-enumeration and urges others to do the same. Trained enumerators will start visiting households from April 16 to collect crucial data essential for planning and executing development programs for the state and the nation.
Majhi highlighted the state government’s readiness for the Census 2027 and stressed the importance of providing accurate information during enumerator visits. He emphasized the significance of citizen cooperation in ensuring the success of this national program for the benefit of Odisha and the country. The Odisha government has instructed various departments and bodies not to transfer officials engaged in census duties to facilitate the smooth execution of Census 2027.
