The Odisha Government has given the green light to 23 major industrial projects valued at Rs 4,573.87 crore. These projects are anticipated to create 22,873 job opportunities throughout the state, aligning with the vision of ‘Samruddha Odisha’ by 2036. The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), led by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, granted approval to these projects at its 148th meeting.
The approved projects span various sectors such as Information Technology, Green Energy Equipment, Chemicals, Textile, Food Processing, Steel, Pharmaceuticals, Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Tourism. They will be established in 11 districts including Angul, Balangir, Kataka, Ganjam, Jajpur, Kendujhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Puri, and Sundargarh, fostering industrial growth and local employment opportunities.
Among the notable investments, ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 778 crore to set up an alkaline electrolyser manufacturing unit in Ganjam, creating 480 jobs. Additionally, HCL Technologies Ltd will establish a Global Development Centre in Khordha with an investment of Rs 730 crore, generating 6,000 employment opportunities and enhancing Odisha’s technology sector.
In the textile and apparel domain, SAPL Industries Pvt Ltd will initiate a ready-made garment manufacturing unit in Puri with an investment of Rs 254 crore, leading to 4,570 jobs. Furthermore, Transpek Industry Ltd and Growing Tree Oil and Refinery Pvt Ltd will invest in chemical manufacturing facilities in Ganjam and Nuapada respectively, contributing to industrial growth in these regions.
The healthcare sector also witnessed a significant development with DION Riverside Township Pvt Ltd’s approval to establish a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital in Kataka, investing Rs 275.89 crore and creating 941 jobs. These projects underscore Odisha’s commitment to attracting quality investments, fostering employment, and ensuring balanced regional development.
