The Odisha government has partnered with NLC India Limited to boost the state’s shift towards sustainable energy. The Joint Venture Agreement, signed between NLC India Renewables Limited and OREDA Limited, aims to develop 1,000 MW of green energy projects in Odisha. This collaboration, focusing on wind and solar power projects, signifies a significant milestone in Odisha’s energy sector.

Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo oversaw the signing ceremony, emphasizing the importance of combining renewable potential with expertise to meet clean energy goals. The partnership, with NIRL holding 51% equity and OREDA 49%, is set to drive sustainable industrial growth in Odisha. The initiative underscores the state’s commitment to a cleaner, greener future and positions Odisha as a center for green innovation in India.

The Joint Venture Company will play a crucial role in managing large-scale renewable projects in Odisha, enhancing the state’s capacity in the renewable energy sector. With a focus on fulfilling Renewable Purchase Obligation targets, this venture is poised to accelerate Odisha’s transition to a more sustainable energy landscape.
