Odisha’s Governor, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, highlighted that true success is not just about professional accomplishments or wealth but about being good individuals and responsible citizens who contribute positively to society. Speaking at a school event in Kaniha, Angul district, he urged students to adopt values like dedication, discipline, and integrity that the institution has promoted for over seven decades. Education, according to him, should not only focus on careers but also on shaping character to empower youth to make meaningful contributions to society.
Dr. Kambhampati praised the school as a significant educational institution, founded by the late freedom fighter and former Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pabitra Mohan Pradhan. He highlighted that Pradhan established the school during a time of educational challenges, believing strongly in the transformative power of education for society. The Governor mentioned that renaming the school in honor of Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, as suggested by Dr. Hare Krushna Mahatab, was a fitting acknowledgment of his contributions and vision.
Recognizing the school as a symbol of effective leadership and public service, Dr. Kambhampati commended the alumni for upholding its values and making notable contributions in various fields across Odisha and the nation, including education, administration, medicine, science, and public service. He also praised Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan, present at the event, for his efforts in elevating the school to a PM Shri Higher Secondary School under the National Education Policy 2020.
The Governor described the institution as a model of inclusive education and called on all stakeholders to collaborate in further enhancing its stature as it marks 75 years of service to society.
