The Malkangiri Police in Odisha uncovered a mobile hashish oil manufacturing unit, confiscating about 800 liters of chemicals and solvents used in the production process. This seizure has the potential to yield hashish oil valued at around Rs 100 crore in the market. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police conducted multiple raids in the Chitrakonda area after suspecting the presence of an illegal manufacturing unit.
Following intense surveillance and verification efforts, the police, led by SDPO Chitrakonda Pradosh Pradhan, successfully intercepted a vehicle transporting the clandestine manufacturing unit. In addition to the chemicals seized, the police also confiscated a vehicle with a falsified registration number, 50kg of ganja, and two liters of hashish oil. The driver of the vehicle, however, managed to escape into the dense jungle.
To track down the absconding driver and uncover details about other syndicate members involved, the Malkangiri district superintendent of police has formed specialized teams. With a rise in security measures against ganja trafficking, smugglers are resorting to hashish oil extraction due to its ease of concealment and transportation.
