Odisha attracted investment commitments totaling Rs 67,000 crore, equivalent to around 6.8 GW of capacity, at the Odisha Renewable Energy Investor Conclave 2026. The event, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, aimed to accelerate renewable energy investments in the state. Organized by the Odisha Energy department and GRIDCO Limited, the conclave brought together various stakeholders such as policymakers, investors, and industry leaders.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted Odisha’s dedication to becoming a leader in renewable energy within India. He emphasized the state’s advantageous position for wind energy development, in addition to solar and small hydro projects. The event also marked the launch of a city accelerator program for six cities in Odisha. The conclave saw the mobilization of significant investments and the unveiling of the state’s first wind resource assessment.

Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo expressed confidence that the conclave would not only drive Odisha’s renewable energy growth but also contribute significantly to India’s clean energy transition. The event showcased a diverse project pipeline, including Floating Solar Photovoltaic projects, Pumped Storage Projects, and Battery Energy Storage Systems, among others. Opportunities in wind energy, distributed renewables, small hydro, agrivoltaics, and waste-to-energy were also highlighted during the conclave.
