Odisha Vigilance intensified its anti-corruption efforts by conducting simultaneous house searches at locations associated with two Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) officials in Sambalpur district. The targeted officials are Dhanurdhar Biswal, the Establishment Officer-cum-Office Superintendent, and Aswini Meher, the Steward at VIMSAR, Burla. The searches are based on warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
A team comprising Deputy Superintendents of Police, Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and support staff is conducting raids at locations linked to Dhanurdhar Biswal. Simultaneously, another team, led by DSPs, Inspectors, ASIs, and support staff, is searching locations associated with Aswini Meher in Sambalpur and Bargarh districts. During the searches, movable and immovable assets belonging to Biswal and his family, including properties and financial holdings, were discovered.
Assets found in possession of Aswini Meher and his family members include an under-construction four-storeyed building, multiple plots, and financial investments. The Vigilance team is in the process of verifying the details of these assets. The searches are part of the ongoing efforts to tackle corruption among public servants in the region.
