These events attracted investments totaling Rs 1.67 lakh crore and created 1.46 lakh job opportunities. The state’s strategic focus on new-age and technology-led sectors is propelling its evolution from a resource-driven economy to an industrial powerhouse.
Odisha’s recent roundtable discussions in Hyderabad and Kolkata covered key sectors like pharmaceuticals, aerospace, defense, hosiery, apparel accessories, technical textiles, metal ancillary, engineering goods, plastics, chemicals, packaging, recycling, and biotechnology. With 123 company leaders participating, the state secured significant investments, signaling a shift towards modern and high-growth industries.
The Chief Minister emphasized Odisha’s readiness for new-edge industries, offering a conducive environment for innovation, production, and logistics. The state’s strong infrastructure, including major ports and airports, ensures global connectivity and supports industry growth. Recognizing the importance of skilled manpower, the government plans to establish three world-class Skill Centers to enhance region-balanced skill development and employment opportunities.
