Singer Olivia Rodrigo shared that she delved into “real romantic love for the first time” while crafting her upcoming album “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” set for release on June 12.
The album’s creation follows reports of Rodrigo’s split from actor Louis Partridge after a two-year relationship. Speaking on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Rodrigo expressed that she began writing the album during a period of experiencing genuine romantic feelings.
Drawing inspiration from her favorite love songs, Rodrigo highlighted the emotional depth in them, emphasizing the blend of sadness, fear, and longing that resonated with her and her audience.
Rodrigo’s album, which she initially intended to be a “sad love song,” reflects a mix of vulnerability and healing, capturing a range of emotions and personal discoveries within the context of relationships.
