Seasoned golfer Om Prakash Chouhan secured his 12th professional victory at the Players Championship held at the Tollygunge Club in Kolkata. Chouhan, who was trailing by one shot before the final day, shot a remarkable six-under 64 in the last round to finish at 16-under 264 for the tournament. This win, his first in over two years, earned him a prize of Rs 22,50,000.
Shaurya Bhattacharya and Manu Gandas, who were in contention throughout the tournament, finished tied-second with matching scores of 15-under 265. Kshitij Naveed Kaul also put up a strong performance, ending the week in fourth place at 14-under 266. Chouhan’s exceptional play on the final day, marked by eight birdies and two bogeys, propelled him from 16th to fourth position in the PGTI Order of Merit rankings.

Chouhan credited his improved performance to a change in mindset and routine, emphasizing the impact of increased practice hours and a more focused approach. Reflecting on his recent successes, including a win and top finishes in the current season, Chouhan acknowledged the role of timely advice and support from his wife in revitalizing his game.
Manu Gandas and Shaurya Bhattacharya, who finished tied-second, put up strong performances with crucial birdies in the final round. Divyanshu Bajaj, among the Kolkata-based players, secured a respectable tied-25th position at three-under 277. Honey Baisoya, the current leader of the 2026 DP World PGTI Order of Merit, maintained his position with earnings of Rs 33,95,250 for the season.
