Opener Gaurav Reddy’s unbeaten century guided Anurag Nalgonda Knights to a significant eight-wicket win over Medak Falcons in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Sreenidhi University TG20’s first match. Gaurav’s remarkable innings of 101 runs off 47 balls propelled his team to victory, securing their second position on the points table.
In pursuit of 181 runs, Knights’ openers Gaurav and Jashwanth Mote set a strong foundation during the powerplay, with Gaurav going on to score his maiden century in the tournament. His stellar performance also elevated him to the third position in the race for the Orange Cap, accumulating a total of 257 runs in the competition so far.
The Falcons, opting to bat first, started steadily with Naman Agarwal and Shrunjith Reddy before Aniketh Reddy’s breakthrough wicket shifted the momentum in favor of the Knights. Despite some resistance from Falcons skipper Ravi Teja and Shrunjith, the Knights’ bowlers maintained pressure, ultimately restricting the Falcons to 180/4.
Debutant Ilyaan Sathani and Rakshann Readdi’s effective bowling performances further troubled the Falcons, but Vikram Naik and Sai Varun Yerram’s partnership towards the end helped the Falcons post a competitive total. However, it was Gaurav Reddy’s exceptional batting display that sealed the victory for the Knights, with his century steering the team to a convincing win with 21 balls to spare.
