Amid the ongoing polling for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, the opposition has accused the ruling alliance of using money power. Shiv Sena leader Ambadas Danve criticized the BJP for allegedly being intoxicated with wealth and showering money across the city.
Danve highlighted the need for the BJP to focus on their work rather than resorting to cash distribution tactics. He expressed confidence in the public’s wisdom to hold the BJP accountable during the elections. Voting is currently underway in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, with over a million eligible voters.
The opposition also blamed the State Election Commission for mismanagement, with Danve accusing the administration of being under pressure from the ruling party. He urged voters to be vigilant against bias and stand by candidates who uphold justice. NCP Legislator Rohit Pawar criticized the SEC for anomalies in voter lists, citing instances of confusion at polling stations.
Pawar alleged that ward boundaries and voter lists were manipulated to favor the ruling party, leading to widespread confusion. He demanded accountability from the State Election Commission for the reported irregularities. State officials have encouraged citizens to actively participate in the voting process as the day progresses.
