Opposition Congress criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party government for the recent explosion at a firecracker factory in Dewas, labeling it as a result of administrative negligence and a corrupt system. The blast in Tonkkala, Dewas district, claimed three lives and left 15 others injured, some critically, as per official reports. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar highlighted the risks faced by laborers due to poor wages and the alleged ignorance of illegal industrial units by authorities.
Singhar emphasized the tragic consequences of the blast, including the loss of lives, severe injuries, and reports of missing individuals. He condemned the lack of action despite villagers’ complaints about the factory’s illegal operations. Singhar questioned the authorities responsible for allowing such hazardous activities to persist, calling for accountability and strict measures against those at fault.
The explosion not only resulted in casualties but also raised concerns about safety standards, illegal operations, and regulatory enforcement in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed condolences and announced financial aid for the victims’ families, along with free medical treatment for the injured. The incident has sparked fear and highlighted the need for stringent action to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
