Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan criticized the Kerala government led by Pinarayi Vijayan regarding allegations against Transport Minister K. B. Ganesh Kumar. Satheesan questioned the state’s ability to deliver justice, citing concerns raised by the minister’s wife, Bindu Menon. The incident involved Menon seeking help after being reportedly locked in a room by the minister’s personal staff.
The Opposition leader called on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to clarify the government’s position on the controversy. Responding to claims that the allegations were politically motivated, Satheesan emphasized that it was not the Opposition’s role to fabricate such issues. He expressed disappointment in the functioning of the Cabinet and questioned the lack of police action in response to the incident.
CPI-M General Secretary M.A. Baby stated that Kerala leaders would address the issue, while State Higher Education Minister R. Bindhu emphasized the importance of justice for all women. A complaint has been lodged with the Director General of Police seeking a thorough investigation into the allegations against the minister and his staff.
