Lionel Messi’s ‘GOAT India Tour-Kolkata edition’ organizer, Satadru Dutta, has filed a formal complaint against ex-state Sports Minister Aroop Biswas at Bidhannagar South Police Station. Dutta alleges Biswas of breaching security protocols and causing chaos during Messi’s event in Kolkata in December 2025. The complaint highlights issues of security breaches, endangerment of Messi, and disruption of the high-profile program.
Dutta visited the police station to report irregularities and deficiencies in the organization of the event held on December 13, 2025. He claims the event suffered from inadequate planning and coordination. This move comes amidst ongoing investigations into mismanagement and vandalism at Salt Lake Stadium during Messi’s visit, which received widespread criticism.
The complaint is part of a larger probe into the alleged incidents at the stadium. Dutta, who was previously arrested in connection with the case, has openly accused the former state minister of interfering with the event and jeopardizing Messi’s security. Following a change in government in West Bengal, Dutta has spoken out against the minister’s involvement in the event.
Satadru Dutta, who was granted bail after being arrested, was instrumental in bringing Messi to Kolkata. Chaos erupted at Salt Lake Stadium as spectators were left disappointed when Messi abruptly left the field. Subsequently, vandalism occurred in the stadium, with spectators causing damage to property. In the aftermath, an investigation committee was formed, leading to the resignation of Aroop Biswas as the state Sports Minister and show-cause notices issued to top IPS officers, including DGP Rajeev Kumar.
