In a significant move towards expanding the reach of the Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme and enhancing digital connectivity, more than 100 crore health records have been associated with Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA). States like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat have shown notable progress in linking health records under ABDM, marking a crucial advancement in creating a unified digital healthcare system for citizens.
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has witnessed a remarkable surge in registrations in recent months, with the number of linked health records doubling from 50 crore in February 2025 to over 100 crores within 15 months. The project, led by the National Health Authority under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, signifies the increasing acceptance of ABDM in various government health initiatives, state health platforms, public digital frameworks, and private health technology collaborations.
ABDM has transformed into one of the world’s largest digital health ecosystems, with nearly 10 crore health records being linked every two to three months. Over 450 public and private health technology solutions have successfully integrated with the ABDM ecosystem, showcasing the widespread adoption of digital health services across different healthcare sectors.
The ABHA acts as a distinctive digital health identifier, enabling citizens to securely link and access their health records across multiple healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and healthcare providers. Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, CEO of the National Health Authority, emphasized the significance of surpassing the milestone of linking over 100 crore health records with ABHA, highlighting the growing utilization of digital health services in government programs, state health setups, healthcare facilities, and private technology partnerships.
