Over 4.42 lakh farmers in Madhya Pradesh have registered for wheat procurement at the minimum support price (MSP) for the Rabi Marketing Year 2026-27. Registration centers totaling 3,186 have been established across the state to facilitate the process, with the deadline for registration set for March 7. The MSP for wheat in the upcoming year has been fixed at Rs 2,585 per quintal, an increase of Rs 160 from the previous year.
The registration process, which commenced on February 7, has seen significant participation from farmers across various divisions in the state. Notably, 54,587 farmers from Indore division, 148,905 from Ujjain, and 100,09,134 from Bhopal have already registered for wheat procurement at the support price. Free registration facilities are available at designated centers in Gram Panchayats, Janpad Panchayat offices, and Tehsil offices, while paid registration options exist at various kiosks and service centers.
In an effort to ensure transparency and efficiency, the government has mandated the verification of farmers’ details, including land records, Aadhaar card, and other identification proofs. Special provisions have been made for tenant farmers, sharecroppers, and other categories, with payments for the procured wheat set to be transferred directly to the farmers’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
