More than 42,000 individuals have been relocated to secure areas in Gujarat as authorities work on relief efforts after days of intense rainfall. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with key officials, assessed the situation and response strategies at the State Emergency Operations Centre in Gandhinagar. The focus has now shifted to providing relief and aid in the affected regions as the rain subsides in South Gujarat.

Officials reported that 42,158 people have been evacuated preventively from vulnerable areas across the state. Cash assistance for affected families has commenced, with additional household aid to follow soon. The recent heavy rains have led to the unfortunate loss of 308 livestock animals in Gujarat. Anticipating heavy rainfall in certain districts, rescue teams like NDRF and SDRF have been deployed to assist the local administration.

In light of the upcoming heavy rainfall forecast, district collectors in affected regions have been instructed to stay vigilant and ensure necessary precautions are in place. Post-flood recovery efforts, including sanitation drives, public health initiatives, and damage assessments, are set to begin promptly. The state is closely monitoring the monsoon situation, with reservoirs currently at 53.14% of their total storage capacity.
