Over 52 Lakh Voters to Participate in Telangana Urban Local Body Polls

More than 52 lakh voters are set to vote in 116 municipalities and seven corporations in Telangana on Wednesday. The State Election Commission has made extensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of polling in 123 urban local bodies.

A total of 52,17,413 voters are eligible to cast their votes at 8,191 polling stations. The polling is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 1,379 Returning Officers and 41,773 polling staff deployed for the process.

State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini mentioned that voters can download voter slips through the SEC website or TE-POLL app. There are 12,944 candidates contesting for 2,981 wards in the urban local bodies, with polling taking place for 2,569 wards in 116 municipalities.

Polling will be conducted for 412 wards in seven municipal corporations. Tight security arrangements have been put in place for polling, with additional police personnel deployed to maintain law and order. Webcasting has been arranged in all polling stations for transparency.
