Padma Shri recipient Seth Pal Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being honored with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation’s ‘Agricola Medal’ for 2026. Singh expressed pride for the nation and the farming community, highlighting the global recognition of India’s agriculture sector under Modi’s leadership. The FAO bestowed this award on PM Modi for his efforts in enhancing farmers’ welfare, food security, agricultural productivity, and poverty alleviation.

Seth Pal Singh emphasized that the award reflects not just the Prime Minister’s achievements but the entire country’s progress. He commended Modi’s initiatives such as empowering farmers through various means like FPOs, startups, skill development, and diversification in farming. Singh noted the significant transformations in India’s agriculture and food security sectors since 2014, attributing them to Modi’s leadership.

The farmer also lauded Modi’s advocacy for millets and traditional grains on a global platform, emphasizing their nutritional value and economic benefits. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s role in elevating the status of millets internationally, leading to improved soil fertility, reduced cultivation costs, and increased market value for these grains. Singh further praised PM Modi for safeguarding Indian farmers’ interests amidst global agricultural challenges.

Seth Pal Singh underscored Modi’s unwavering commitment to farmers’ rights and welfare, mentioning the provision of subsidies to alleviate farmers’ financial burdens. He pointed out that PM Modi’s rising international acclaim has bolstered India’s agricultural diplomacy and enhanced the country’s global reputation. Singh expressed confidence in India’s development trajectory under Modi’s leadership, citing the Prime Minister’s vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.
