Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq took to social media to address Australian all-rounder Cameron Green’s apparent scrutiny of his bowling action during the second T20I match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Tariq shared a meme on Instagram, hinting that Green’s reaction stemmed from frustration after his dismissal, sparking speculation and discussion online.
During the 11th over of Australia’s innings, Green was seen making a hand gesture that some interpreted as an insinuation of ‘chucking’ as he walked off the field following his dismissal by Tariq. This incident quickly gained attention on social media, with certain fans calling for action against the Pakistani bowler.
Known for his unique bowling style involving a brief pause before delivery, Tariq has previously faced scrutiny and was reported twice for a suspect action in the Pakistan Super League. However, he was cleared on both occasions after undergoing testing, defending his unconventional technique within the legal parameters of elbow straightening.
In the match, Pakistan, batting first, amassed a formidable total of 198 runs in 20 overs, led by captain Salman Agha’s 76 and wicketkeeper Usman Khan’s 53. Australia struggled in their chase, being bowled out for just 108 runs in 15.4 overs, with Green being the only player to surpass 30 runs. Pakistan’s victory in the match secured them the series win after triumphing in the first two encounters.
