Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that Pakistan will host Australia for three T20Is from January 29 to February. The matches are scheduled to take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Australia’s T20I squad is set to arrive in Lahore on January 28, providing both teams with crucial game time ahead of the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026.
“The tour marks a blockbuster beginning of the year for Pakistan Cricket fans,” said PCB COO Sumair Ahmed Syed, encouraging fans to support both teams during the series. This will be Australia’s third visit to Pakistan since March-April 2022, with previous tours including Test matches, ODIs, and T20Is. Australia also played some of their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Pakistan.
Australia had a close three-wicket victory in the only T20I they played at Gaddafi Stadium in 2022. The venue has become familiar to the Australian team, having played multiple matches there since March 2022. Pakistan, on the other hand, is gearing up for the T20 World Cup, where they are placed in Group A alongside India, Namibia, the Netherlands, and the United States.
In the previous T20 World Cup, Pakistan faced an early exit in the group stage, but in the 2022 edition, they finished as the runner-up. As for Australia, they are in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Oman. The upcoming series between Pakistan and Australia is expected to be a significant preparation opportunity for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup.
