Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has revealed a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, starting on May 12 at the National Bank Stadium in Lahore. The series, set to run until May 15, will feature evening matches beginning at 7:30 pm local time. The team, captained by Fatima Sana, aims to continue their winning streak from the ongoing ODI series, where they have already secured a 2-0 lead ahead of the final match.
The squad includes newcomers Amber Kainat and Saira Jabeen, with Amber showcasing her talent as a right-arm fast bowler by claiming 11 wickets in the National Women’s T20 Tournament. Saira, on the other hand, was part of Pakistan’s recent tour to South Africa. The team boasts a blend of experienced players like Aliya Riaz, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sundhu, and Tuba Hassan, alongside the return of Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, and Natalia Parvaiz to strengthen the batting lineup. Additionally, Sadia Iqbal and Rameen Shamim will enhance the spin bowling department.
In preparation for the upcoming 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup in England, Pakistan aims to refine their strategies and team dynamics. The tournament, scheduled from June 12 to July 5, will see Pakistan competing in Group 1 against formidable opponents like Australia, India, South Africa, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. The reserves list includes seasoned player Diana Baig, along with Momina Riasat, Sadaf Shamas, Sidra Amin, and Syeda Aroob Shah.
