The Pakistan women’s national selection committee has chosen Umm-e-Hani to replace the injured Rameen Shamim in both the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming South Africa tour starting on February 10. Rameen suffered a left-hand thumb IPJ dislocation during a training session in Karachi and is expected to be out for four to six weeks. Umm-e-Hani, who recently led Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament, will take Rameen’s place.

Omaima Sohail will replace Umm-e-Hani in the squad for the South Africa tour. Additionally, Hafsa Khalid has been named captain of Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ for an upcoming 20-over tournament in Bangkok, Thailand. The tour of South Africa will kick off with three T20Is in Potchefstroom, Benoni, and Kimberley on February 10, 13, and 16, respectively, serving as vital preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England in June.

Following the T20Is, a three-match ODI series will commence on February 22 in Bloemfontein, with the final ODI scheduled for March 1 in Durban. The Pakistan Women’s T20I squad is set to depart for South Africa on February 7, while the Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ squad will head to Bangkok on February 10. The updated T20I squad includes players like Fatima Sana, Aliya Riaz, and Gull Feroza, while the ODI squad features players such as Diana Baig, Sadaf Shamas, and Syeda Aroob Shah.
