Pakistan concluded their 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup journey on a positive note by defeating the Netherlands by 37 runs at the County Ground. Gull Feroza’s unbeaten 63 off 52 deliveries guided Pakistan to a total of 126/6 after opting to bat first. In response, Fatima Sana’s 3-12 and Ayesha Zafar’s 3-13 restricted the Netherlands to 89 all out in 18 overs.
The Netherlands, in their debut T20 World Cup appearance, displayed determination but fell short in the chase. Despite early promising knocks by Babette de Leede and Heather Siegers, the Netherlands couldn’t sustain the momentum. Pakistan’s spinners, particularly Nashra Sandhu and Tuba Hassan, played a crucial role in stifling the Netherlands’ batting lineup.
Pakistan’s innings saw a solid partnership between Ayesha Zafar and Gull Feroza, contributing significantly to their total score. Gull’s composed 63 not out, supported by Ayesha’s 32, laid the foundation for Pakistan’s victory. Although the total could have been higher, Pakistan’s bowlers defended it well to secure a convincing win.
The match witnessed several standout performances, including Gull Feroza’s match-winning knock and Fatima Sana’s impactful bowling spell. Pakistan’s victory in this match secured them the fifth spot in Group A of the tournament standings.
