Pakistan concluded their 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup journey on a positive note by defeating the Netherlands by 37 runs at the County Ground. Fatima Sana’s impressive performance, including a triple-wicket maiden, helped Pakistan secure the win with the Netherlands being bowled out for 89 in 18 overs. Ayesha Zafar also contributed significantly with her bowling, taking 3-13.

The Netherlands, in their debut T20 World Cup appearance, displayed determination but fell short in the chase. Despite a promising start with Heather Siegers scoring boundaries, they struggled to maintain momentum. Pakistan’s Diana Baig played a crucial role by dismissing key players, ultimately securing Pakistan’s fifth position in Group A.

Heather Siegers’ aggressive start for the Netherlands was halted by Diana’s strategic bowling, leading to her dismissal. The Netherlands faced further setbacks as key players like Phebe Molkenboer and Sterre Kalis struggled to build partnerships against Pakistan’s spinners. Ayesha Zafar’s crucial wickets further dented the Netherlands’ hopes of a successful chase.

Pakistan’s spinners continued to dominate the game, restricting the Netherlands’ scoring opportunities. Despite brief partnerships between Babette de Leede and Robine Rijke, the Netherlands failed to maintain momentum. Ayesha Zafar’s exceptional bowling display, including crucial wickets, sealed a convincing victory for Pakistan.
