Pakistan’s spinner Abrar Ahmed and New Zealand’s all-rounder Rachin Ravindra have made significant strides in the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings update. Abrar’s impressive performances against Australia in the ODI series propelled him to fourth place in the bowling rankings with a rating of 633, marking a career milestone for the 26-year-old. His consistent wicket-taking displays, including two two-wicket hauls, contributed to his rise.
In the same series, Pakistan’s pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi also climbed the rankings, moving up to 13th position after collecting four wickets. Australia’s Nathan Ellis made a notable jump to 44th place in the bowling rankings following his six-wicket haul in two matches, showcasing his growing impact in Australia’s limited-overs setup.
On the batting front, Australia’s Matt Renshaw saw a significant improvement in his rankings after scoring 43 and 61 runs in the series, jumping more than 100 places to 78th in the ODI batting rankings. His teammates Josh Inglis and Cameron Green also made progress, climbing to 57th and 63rd place, respectively.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Test victory over Ireland led to changes in the red-ball rankings ahead of their World Test Championship assignment against England. Rachin Ravindra’s century against Ireland propelled him into the top ten for the first time in his career, securing ninth place with 737 rating points. Tom Blundell’s innings of 186 runs helped him advance to 40th place in the Test batting rankings.
In the bowling rankings, Ireland’s Mark Adair re-entered at 24th position after his performance against New Zealand. New Zealand’s pace attack also saw improvements, with Nathan Smith moving up 24 spots to 59th and Blair Tickner climbing nine places to 54th.
