Panjab University in Chandigarh is set to host Lafz Sur Aur Safar, a unique event featuring two distinguished alumni, lyricist Irshad Kamil and Sufi singer-poet Satinder Sartaaj, at the Panjab University Convention Centre on July 26. Organized by the Panjab University Alumni Association (PUAA) in collaboration with the Chandigarh Citizens Foundation (CCF), the event will offer a personal insight into the creative journeys and experiences that have influenced these renowned artists.
Lafz Sur Aur Safar aims to go beyond a traditional stage performance, delving into the stories behind the words and music that have resonated with audiences worldwide. Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Renu Vig expressed excitement about welcoming new students with this inspiring event, highlighting the significance of reconnecting with distinguished alumni to inspire current and future generations.
Irshad Kamil, a celebrated lyricist and PU alumnus, known for his award-winning work in Hindi cinema, will be joined by Satinder Sartaaj, an internationally acclaimed Sufi singer-poet and PU graduate. Their conversation will be moderated by academicians Pushpinder Syal and Archana R. Singh, focusing on literature, music, creativity, and the transformative moments that have shaped their artistic paths.
The event is open to PU alumni, students, literature enthusiasts, and artists from the tricity and beyond.
