Actress Parineeti Chopra expressed surprise as her film “Ishaqzaade” marked its 14th anniversary. At the airport, she was reminded that the movie had been released 14 years ago. Parineeti jokingly remarked, “Oh my God, hum log sab buddhe ho gaye (We are all old now).”
Commemorating this milestone, Arjun Kapoor, her co-star in the film, shared sketches of his popular scenes from “Ishaqzaade” on social media. He mentioned that his character, Parma, still feels like the beginning of his acting journey. Arjun expressed gratitude to the audience for their support throughout the years.
“Ishaqzaade,” directed by Habib Faisal and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, featured Parineeti and Arjun in the lead roles. The romantic action film also starred Gauahar Khan, Natasha Rastogi, Anil Rastogi, and Shashank Khaitan in supporting roles.
Set in the fictional town of Almor in Uttar Pradesh, the movie is an official remake of the 2009 Bengali drama “Dujone.” It narrates the story of Parma Chauhan (Arjun) and Zoya Qureshi (Parineeti), belonging to rival political families. “Ishaqzaade” was Parineeti’s second project following her debut in “Ladies vs Ricky Bahl” in 2011.
On the work front, Parineeti was last seen in “Amar Singh Chamkila” alongside Diljit Dosanjh. The biographical drama, directed, produced, and co-written by Imtiaz Ali, is based on the life of musician Amar Singh Chamkila. The film was released on Netflix on April 12, 2024.
