The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports will convene crucial meetings in New Delhi on Monday and Tuesday. The discussions will cover significant topics such as NEET, the National Testing Agency (NTA), CBSE examination reforms, and broader education policies. Starting at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, the Committee will address issues related to NEET and the NTA, including debates on exam formats and stakeholder feedback.
The meetings will involve key officials like the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, the Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Director General of the NTA, and Dr. (Major) Gulshan Garg from the United Doctors Front. On June 2, discussions will shift to On-Screen Marking (OSM) in Class 12 CBSE exams and challenges faced by students. The Committee will also assess the Three-Language Formula’s implementation in Classes 9 and 10.
These meetings occur amidst increased scrutiny of the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. A parliamentary panel emphasized the importance of upholding exam integrity and addressing system loopholes. The NTA is set to conduct a re-examination on June 21 following the cancellation of the NEET-UG exam on May 12. The Standing Committee has been monitoring the paper leak investigation and the transition of NEET-UG to a computer-based format.
