In a significant development, Patna Police captured the main suspect, Ravish alias Bashiya alias BC, in the high-profile murder case of Bunty Yadav. The arrest took place following an encounter in the Buddha Colony police station area, where Ravish sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Ravish, who had been on the run since the murder, was intercepted by the police based on specific intelligence suggesting his return to Patna through the LNT Ghat area. Upon receiving the tip-off, law enforcement set up a blockade to apprehend him.
During the arrest attempt, Ravish reportedly fired shots in an attempt to escape, with one bullet hitting the bonnet of a Kotwali Police Station vehicle. Fortunately, Station House Officer Ajay Kumar and other occupants of the vehicle escaped unharmed. In response, the police fired in self-defence, injuring Ravish in the right leg, leading to his immediate arrest and transfer to a hospital for treatment.
A country-made pistol was recovered from the site of the encounter, and forensic experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) collected evidence, including the seized firearm, for further examination. The operation was overseen by ASP (Law and Order) Krishna Murari Prasad, with support from the District Intelligence Unit (DIU), Special Investigation Unit (SIU), and Kotwali Police Station personnel.
Ravish, who has a criminal record with charges including attempted murder, robbery, and extortion, is a key figure in the case of Bunty Yadav, a chowmein vendor from Karbigahiya in Patna, who was allegedly abducted and later found dead near Athmalgola. With Ravish’s arrest, a total of five suspects have now been apprehended in connection with the murder, marking a crucial step towards establishing the events leading to Bunty’s death and determining the roles of all involved parties. The investigation is ongoing, with legal proceedings progressing accordingly.
