Patna Police conducted an encounter in Masaurhi block under ‘Operation Langda,’ resulting in the shooting of a suspected criminal near Charma Mor on Wednesday morning. The injured individual, identified as Ajay Paswan, also known as “Badal,” hails from Darweshpur in Patna. Ajay sustained a gunshot wound in his leg during the confrontation and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Authorities recovered a pistol, a country-made firearm (desi katta), and a motorcycle from the scene. Additionally, another suspect named Ajay Yadav was apprehended during the operation. Ajay Paswan, the alleged mastermind behind a Rs 27 lakh robbery involving a CMS company cash van, is facing around 20 criminal cases, including bank robberies, extortion, and murder.
Ajay Paswan, who had been evading law enforcement for an extended period, was actively pursued by authorities. The police had previously injured another robbery suspect, Nitish Kumar, in connection with the same case. During this operation, cash, mobile phones, and weapons related to the robbery were recovered. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of three more suspects, aiding in the tracking of Nitish Kumar and Ajay Paswan.
