A tragic road accident on the Ratlam-Indore highway claimed the lives of a pediatrician, Dr. Manish Singh, and his 80-year-old father-in-law, Shivnarayan Rajauria. The accident, which occurred early Sunday morning, also left five other family members injured.
The fatal incident took place when the car they were traveling in, an MG Hector, collided with a divider near a toll plaza past Dharad. Initial investigations suggest that the driver, Ajay Gupta, may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash.
Dr. Singh, who worked at the Government Children’s Hospital in Ratlam, died at the scene, while Rajauria passed away while receiving treatment at the government Medical College Hospital. The impact of the collision was so severe that the occupants were trapped inside the badly damaged car.
Emergency services, including an ambulance and a police team, responded to the scene promptly. Despite efforts to rescue and transport the injured to the hospital, the injuries proved fatal for Dr. Singh and Rajauria. The other occupants, including Dr. Singh’s wife, two daughters, the driver, and his wife, are currently receiving medical treatment.
