Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz, 52, shared her frightening experience of facing a brain aneurysm scare while filming “The Black Ball.” She recalled being informed about the health concern just before her night-shoot scenes, feeling like she was on the verge of death.

During a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival for the movie, Penelope revealed her initial disbelief at the news, which turned out to be real. Despite the scare, doctors cleared her to resume shooting the following day, emphasizing the importance of discussing such personal challenges.

In the film directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, Penelope portrays cabaret singer Nene, a role she chose based on the script’s impact rather than screen time. She expressed her admiration for the LGBTQ+ themes in the movie, highlighting her support for equal rights and social justice causes.
