A petition has been filed in a court in Ajmer, asserting the presence of a Shiva temple within the Ajmer Dargah complex. The court has accepted the plea for a hearing and has issued notices to all involved parties.
Scheduled for February 21, the next hearing will address the claim made by Rajvardhan Singh Parmar, National President of the Maharana Pratap Sena, regarding the existence of the Shiva temple within the dargah complex. Parmar, through Supreme Court advocate Dr A.P. Singh, filed the petition in the Ajmer Civil Court.
Dr Singh, representing Parmar, presented supporting evidence, including maps, survey-related material, and photographs, to substantiate the presence of a Shivling of Lord Mahadev inside the dargah premises. In response to the court’s proceedings, additional material will be provided if required for verification.
The petition has named the Rajasthan government, the Archaeology Department, and the Dargah Committee as respondents, with notices issued to all parties involved. Parmar has also submitted affidavits from around 1.25 lakh individuals, collected during a statewide outreach campaign across Rajasthan, to support the claim.
Rajvardhan Singh Parmar expressed confidence in the legal process following the court’s recognition of his petition as the primary one, emphasizing the organization’s full cooperation. Notably, a similar petition was previously filed by Vishnu Gupta, National President of the Hindu Sena, claiming the existence of a Sankat Mochan Mahadev temple at the same site, which was also admitted by the court.
