Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle hurled a petrol bomb at Tarsem Garg’s clinic in Bathinda city just before Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s scheduled visit. The incident, which occurred near the RSS office, resulted in no casualties, although a scooter in the vicinity was partially damaged. Garg, whose wife recently contested in the Bathinda Municipal Corporation elections on a BJP ticket, reported the attack to the police after receiving a call from his staff present at the clinic.
Superintendent of Police (City) Narinder Singh informed the media that a CCTV footage captured the two assailants arriving on a bike and throwing the petrol bomb at the clinic. Following the incident, authorities have launched investigations and formed teams to locate and apprehend the perpetrators. An FIR has been filed at the Kotwali police station, and the CIA team, along with forensic experts, have gathered evidence from the scene for analysis.
Senior Superintendent of Police Jyoti Yadav mentioned that the police are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the attackers. The investigation is exploring various angles, including personal vendettas, political disputes, or other potential motives behind the attack. Security measures in the area have been heightened in anticipation of the Chief Minister’s public engagements in Bathinda district.
