Amid speculation of internal discord in Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), a photo posted on social media by RLM MLA Rameshwar Mahto has garnered attention. The picture features Mahto with fellow RLM MLAs Madhav Anand and Alok Singh, emphasizing unity and commitment to Bihar’s development within the NDA.
While the post aimed to showcase solidarity, it notably avoided direct mention of the RLM or its leader, Upendra Kushwaha. Mahto tagged the two MLAs but omitted tagging Kushwaha or the party, using hashtags like #NDA4Bihar, #Bihar, and #RLM instead.
This omission has sparked speculation on whether the three MLAs are fully aligned with RLM leadership or signaling a distinct identity within the NDA. The post did not clarify if the alleged differences between the MLAs and Kushwaha, as reported by some media outlets, have been resolved.
During the Bihar Assembly elections, Kushwaha’s wife won, alongside victories for Mahto, Anand, and Singh, totaling four RLM MLAs. However, controversies arose when Kushwaha nominated his son to the Nitish Kumar cabinet, leading to discussions on nepotism and discontent among party members.
The joint appearance of the three MLAs and their assertion of unity holds political significance. Yet, it remains uncertain if this unity extends to the RLM leadership or is limited to their shared stance within the NDA.
